* Re-Do and Re-Take Policy

It is a goal of mine that the students learn the material that is taught in math class.  If for some reason a student does not perform well on a quiz or test, then he/she may re-do the quiz or test.  After the quiz/test is re-done, then the student can also re-take the quiz/test for an even higher grade.

Any quiz below a 75% can be re-done for a new score of 75%.

To re-do a quiz, the students must correct the problems that were incorrect.  This work must be done on a re-do sheet or on a sheet of loose leaf notebook paper.  Along with showing their work, they MUST explain their mistakes or corrected method for each incorrect problem.  The re-do must then be turned in the day after the quiz was returned to them.

Any quiz or test below a 99% can be re-taken.

To re-take a quiz/test, the students must first re-do the incorrect problems.  This work must be done on a re-do sheet or on a sheet of loose leaf notebook paper.  Along with showing their work, they MUST explain their mistakes or corrected method for each incorrect problem.  The re-do must then be turned in the day after the quiz/test was returned to them.  Once all of the problems are correct then the student can set a time to come in and re-take the quiz/test.  The new score will then be their new grade (up to a 99%).

The students are happy once a re-do or re-take is completed, because their grade will improve… and I am happy, because it shows me that the students understand the math concept.  It’s a win win!!
