About Mrs. Djurdjevic
My name is Mrs. Maria Djurdjevic, recently known as Ms. Giacone. I used to live in the Des Plaines area, but I grew up in Niles. This is my sixth year teaching at Terrace and my forth year teaching 2nd Grade. I graduated with honors form Northeastern Illinois University and received my Masters in Teaching Leadership from St. Xavier University.
I am very honored to be your child’s teacher and I know that it will be a remarkable year. It is my goal that your child’s second grade experience will be filled with personal growth as a thinker and learner. I am looking forward to starting this wonderful adventure! In second grade we switch for almost every subject. I teach the students Science, Social Studies, and Health and Mrs. Butera teaches Math to all the 2nd Graders. This way the 2nd Graders have both of us as their teachers.
In my opinion the most important teachers in a child’s life are their parents, and this is why I feel that we need to work together for the better good of you child.
