Hello District 62!

I am Mrs. Govertsen, and I am the new music/drama teacher here in District 62.

I am so excited to get to know all of my students and start in on the school year!

I come to District 62 from Northeastern Illinois University, where I received my teaching certificate. Before that, I earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in voice and opera from Northwestern University. Even in elementary school, I loved to perform and sing; becoming a teacher was the best way I knew how to share that passion with others. It’s going to be a great year!
