My name is Seth and I’m the new tech director for d62. I started July 1, 2008. I’m very excited to be here & hope some of you will join me out in the blogosphere. Beyond the District 62 blog site we will be launching a district wiki courtesy of Wikispaces.
Even if we haven’t met yet, contact me bowerss@d62.org if you’d like to start your classroom blog.

Hey Seth,
I really love this new blog. You are a fabulous role model for the D62 staff. I see that you are using EduBlogs. How does it compare to the NL blog software? It looks as if you can do more with this. I think it is time for me to move my Principal and Interest blog over to this. However, I have been using my other blog, The Principal/s Page, much more these days becasue I am finding it better to keep a separate blog for parents. THis way I can keep school-related information separate from my personal/professional thoughts and feelings. I will use the Principal and Interest blog for my opinions and the Principal’s Page for school news and information. That is why I want to move the Principal and Interest away from NL blogs.
BTW, you have been bugging me
to use Twitter. I have been on Twitter for a long time, and I have become bored with it. It ends up being a lot of discussion about nothing, probably b/c of the 140 word limit. I will stop by there again in the near future. Maybe I will see you! I do miss the tech conversations we used to have. Maybe Twitter can sort of replace that???
Later…
Dave
You are too kind as always Dave! WordPress does have a lot more options than the NL blogs, but it is also more stuff to remember. James from Edublogs made fun of how many widgets I have – & I don’t think I even have that many…coders…sheesh.
You can get a free WP blog at wordpress.org btw.
I think the secret to Twitter is following the right people. I like a mix of tech, education, & fun. I think it’s a great resource if you have a lot of followers for finding out information – but I don’t have a lot of followers – 25 or so. Also, I think Twitter can be a good way to cut down meetings & email. Also, there is a Twitter clone designed for education @ http://www.edmodo.com I have an account there – but don’t know anyone else who does. I am sehbowers, as I am @ Twitter & “real life”.

I am a little confused (what’s new?).
Is WordPress (WP?) the same as EduBlogs? Or are they different. I know that James Farmer is the Edublog guy. Can you please clarify for me and all of your multitude of readers! Do I go to Edublog or WordPress to set up a new blog?
Sorry Dave. Yes, you can get a free “Educator blog” from Edublogs. Edublogs run off of WordPress MU (multi user). You can get a free blog at wordpress.org, and it doesn’t have to be about education! (But it can be)
