Code of Best Practices in Fair Use
eSchool News has a short but informational article about fair use of copyrighted material, especially as it applies to education & media literacy. As we teach & learn online with greater frequency the concept of fair use is becoming an ever more important issue. The ease with which copyrighted media can be shared on the internet doesn’t need to be restated, but as educators we are required follow best practices and adhere to copyright law.
This article discusses the paper Code of Best Practices in Fair Use. It is an attempt to provide educators with an understanding of U.S. copyright law as it applies to education as well as guidance when using copyrighted material in your instruction.
