Keeping orchestra students up-to-date!!

Grading

Rehearsals: being on time awards the student 25 points for middle school students and 15 points for elementary students. If a student comes to rehearsal late, points will be docked from the rehearsal grade that day. Any disruptions or behavior problems will have the same result.

Lessons: Each lesson per week is worth 20 points. Elementary students are awarded 10 points for attendance and 5 points for their practice log. Students have to be responsible and keep track of when their lesson is from week-to-week. Each Algonquin student should receive a lesson schedule which serves as a reminder of their lesson time and as a hall pass when being signed out by their academic teacher. Elementary students should have a schedule posted in their classroom or possibly their own schedule if necessary.

Pop quiz playing tests: Around roughly each month, students will be tested on certain parts of their concert music. Students will not know when these will be, so they will have to prepare to the best of their ability through consistent practice. Playing tests will be anywhere from 10 points to 30 points.
